Rocking The Turtle Beat! New January 2009 Release is Here!

image001
Hasbro toys surprised I-dog collectors by very quietly releasing one of the most coveted I-dog creations to date…the I-Turtle! Made entirely in the classic white color the turtle has a hydraulic lift shell which “shrugs” when you press his nose and he taps his feet and shuffles around happily and bobs his head from side to side.

The release was so quiet I didn’t catch wind of it myself until during one of my random ebay checks i found one listed for a whopping $60.00. It wasn’t even announced in the online ordering capacity of Toys-R-Us Canada or US or even visible on the Hasbro Ordering site so imagine my surprise to find it stocked in stores! However surprise turned to delight as i’ve been long hoping this teaser item shown during the burger king campaigns would finally find a place as an actual I-dog crew member.

About the size of an actual small turtle it doesn’t take up much space but is definetely a jewel in the I-dog collection.

Now all i have left to collect are the following:

-lime green I-dog and I-pup

-limited edition purple (mauve) I-dog

-2 sets of 2 tie-dyed I-dogs

(current collection total stands at 29 the largest I-dog collection in North America! I recently passed on an I-Dog Lime edition due to the ridiculous shipping prices to Canada, when the dollar improves tho expect this must have list to shorten up FAST!)

i’ve decided that due to the extreme isolation of the “Kiss” series not to include them as musts for the collector as they only cater to a very small audience and are themed really only for Kiss collectors, however once i complete my collection in full i may re-visit the need to have them again.

Also not included in my dream collection are the burger king toys because lets face it, I tried to do this once with the McDonalds’ beanie babies and they just take up space and are not true representations of their larger counterparts (for the cost they don’t do anything!)

So score 10 points to Hasbro for quietly sneaking in the Turtle but score 20 points for Christina who found it anyways!

Here for your solid proof and posterity is one of the very limited and obscure press releases unlike the hype for the I-dog dance and plush which had the formal release streamed to YouTube http://www.geekalerts.com/iturtle-speaker/
